Cross-Country Skiing Beyond Disability
Board of Directors
Ski for Light Canada is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
President, Peter Quaiattini, AB
Peter is an outdoors enthusiast – enjoying cross-country and alpine skiing in the winter and tandem cycling, hiking and paddling in the summer – and is a former Paralympian. His formal education is in engineering and business analysis, and he is retired from a 30+ year career in IT in the transportation sector. Peter resides in Calgary with his wife Nadine and volunteers his time to advocate for accessibility and inclusion for persons with a disability. He has enjoyed attending Ski For Light Canada on a regular basis since 1999.

Treasurer, Don Lee, AB
Don has been guiding at Ski For Light Canada for 4 years. A native of Alberta, he spent most of his career in the Air Force and in the oil and gas sector where he practiced Mechanical Engineering and Project Management. Since retirement in 2015, he continues to enjoy running, yoga, skiing, cycling and time with family. He continues coaching a marathon training group with the Calgary Roadrunners where he also served on the executive. Don has a growing appreciation of helping others realize their goals and is looking forward to working with the Board members.
Secretary, Greg Thompson, AB
Greg enjoys being part of the fun and camaraderie that gets generated from events such as Ski For Light Canada. Organizing Cross Country Ski Races since 1994, Greg has been Chief of Competition for the 2017 Paranordic World Cup and has had experience on both the organizing and race committee side of events. Currently, Greg is Chair of the Organizing Committee for the FIS 2024 Cross Country Skiing World Cup in Canmore.
Director at Large, Elizabeth Hurdman, ON
Elizabeth worked in the health charities sector and has been a long-time advocate for accessible community recreation, parks and trails in Toronto. She is an outdoors enthusiast and enjoys cross-country skiing, running and hiking with her guide dog Sunshine and husband Jeff in the forests near their cottage in the Haliburton Highlands.
Director at Large, Sandy Lecour, AB
Sandy joined the Ski for Light Canada board in 2022 to spread her love of skiing, the outdoors and community.
Director at Large, Tracy Mousseau, ON
Tracy has attended Ski For Light Canada since 2015 and thoroughly enjoys it. She is a sit skier and is guided by her husband, Alan Stummer. She has served on the board for three years and has learned a lot about this organization and what it has to offer to blind/visually impaired people and sighted guides. The need for both groups to keep it going. She and Alan own a 30 foot sailboat and spend spring, summer and fall on it: sailing, sleeping, cooking, and, of course, swimming off the boat. Last year she missed not having friends sailing with them.

“Ski For Light Canada is more than a chance to spend several days skiing, it is also a social event to meet new and old friends. We know of two couples who met at Ski For Light Canada!”
