Ski for Light Canada Borealis 2027 – Strathcona Wilderness Centre, Central Alberta, February 25 – 28, 2027

• Ski for Light Canada is pleased to introduce Ski for Light Borealis, a Nordic ski weekend for new and experienced skiers. This new event is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for blind and partially sighted adults who want to learn to ski, build confidence, and enjoy the outdoors in a supportive community.
  • Participants will ski on beautifully groomed trails at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre, located in central Alberta, just east of Edmonton. The Centre features wide trails, varied terrain, and three training grids ideal for teaching and learning. Beginners will receive instruction from CANSI certified instructors, while experienced skiers can explore the trails at their own pace.
  • Dorm-style ski in/ski out lodging accommodates up to 41 participants, with meals catered on site and over 200 pairs of skis available to rent. The centre is approximately 45 minutes from Edmonton International Airport.
  • Borealis continues Ski for Light’s tradition of connection, teamwork, and shared accomplishment in a smaller, more intimate setting — a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where everyone belongs. This new event is in addition to the week-long event taking place in Canmore.
